Multilingual education in early years in Luxembourg: a paradigm shift?

There is a call for multilingual pedagogies including the use of literacy in several languages early childhood education. However, many practitioners find it difficult to challenge dominant language ideologies and are unsure how develop practices multiple languages. This paper based Luxembourg where programme has been implemented education 2017. The research project examines used daily communication activities educators parents day-care centres, as reported by two online-questionnaires. findings show that when communicating, singing reading with children centres. In addition French Luxembourgish which dominate, they five other Their practice reflects their beliefs speaking promotes learning. while multilingual, range home marginalised. produce hierarchy centres reproduce.
